Welcome to this edition of your club newsletter the first for quite some time we hope you find the content interesting and informative firstly a big thanks to you the members for rejoining and continuing to support the club without this the club couldn’t survive a reminder that membership subscriptions are now overdue so if you haven’t paid yours yet please do so we realise that some were unable to pay due to the card machine not working congratulations to Mark Mcpeak who won the recent world bowls singles qualifying event and also to Stuart Bennett who teamed up with mark to win the pairs they will now play in potters next year and we wish them well. covid19 guidelines for the safety of our staff members and visitors the committee request that all persons using the facilities wear a face covering when moving around the building unless exempt the aiib competitions have now started draws are available on the notice board and on our website October 2021 treasurer our current treasurer is stepping down from the role due to work commitments so if you are qualified or know someone who is qualified and may be interested in this position then please speak with the honorary secretary of the club xmas closure dates the club will be closed from 24th December to 2nd January inclusive BIIBC Internationals championships the club are due to host this prestigious event from march 1119 2022 once again we shall be looking for the support of our members and I’m sure we will have plenty of volunteers as we did on the last occasion in 2017 stay local voucher scheme some members have enquired about this the good news is that you can use your voucher in the bowls shop at your club unfortunately it cant be used in the bar or restaurant subcommittees social the club will be holding some social events please keep your eye on the noticeboards for details and come along and give us your support income generation the club will also be holding some events etc to raise funds for the club please give these your support as we are expecting a costly bill to repair our roof restaurant opening hours mon 1000 1500 Tues 0900 1500 wed 1000 1900 thurs 0900 1900 fri 1000 1900 sat 1000 1500 sun closed dress code whilst the majority of our leagues are played in casual attire members are reminded that the dress code for evening leagues and aiib competitions is whiteclub bowling tops and greys all players are requested to comply with this umpires if anyone is interested in becoming an umpire please speak to either billy mcconkey or michael morgan they are keen to run a course should they get a sufficient number interested fireside quiz a fireside quiz is available to purchase from the office at a cost of £100 if any member feels able to sell some of these to family/friends/coworkers then please speak to the secretary manager or office staff who will provide you with some copies your support with this would be appreciated if anyone has any suggestions as to what they would like to see included in this newsletter then please speak with the secretary happy bowling editor Chris Mulholland
